Peltor ComTac Countdown

Peltor ComTac I

1st generation COMTAC I - 1998

The first model of the ComTac series from Peltor was released in 1998.

The headset suppresses hearing-hazardous noise and amplifies weak sounds. Automatic shutdown after two hours of inactivity. Beeps twice before shutdown. Battery life is about 250 hours.

A warning signal sounds every 30 seconds five minutes before the charge expires. Reduction of noise up to 30 dB. the weight of the headphones is 315 grams. The power is supplied with two AA batteries.

The battery compartment was in the left ear cup and was fixed with one bolt. The first model laid the foundation for the development concept of the active headset segment at Peltor.

Peltor ComTac II

2nd generation COMTAC XS / II - 2004

The second model of the ComTac series from Peltor was released in 2004.

COMTAC II headphones have electronics capable of providing better sound quality while talking and listening. Provides fast suppression of noise hazardous to hearing.

The improved model of protective headphones with the function of active protection and amplification of weak sounds in stereo mode is lighter, more compact than the previous model (MT15H68FB).

Perfect for both left-handers and right-handers, and there is no discomfort when wearing with glasses.

Peltor Comtac III

3rd generation COMTAC XP/ACH - 2008

Peltor headphones are supplied for defense orders from the USA and European countries. Each ear cup has a microphone that picks up all sounds.
Electronics built into the headphones analyze information and attenuate noise before it reaches your ears.

Provides effective protection against impulse sounds such as gunshots.

At the same time, speech and weak signals can be amplified up to 10 times compared to their audibility when using conventional ear muffs.

The sound from the walkie-talkie goes to each ear in mono mode. From the right wire to the right ear, from the left to the left.
Unlike analogs, headphones simultaneously perform the function of suppressing loud sounds, amplifying weak sounds and the operation of a walkie-talkie.

Waterproof including microphone, shockproof, fits comfortably with MICH helmet and the like.

Peltor ComTac IV

4th generation COMTAC IV (Hybrid) - 2011

Hybrid active headphones for tactical communication and hearing protection are designed to meet the needs of today's military and law enforcement agencies. COMTAC headsets have the ability to move the microphone to any ear cup.

Immune to electromagnetic interference, salt water resistant, equipped with gel ear pads for increased comfort.

The Comtact IV uses an AAA battery as its power source, and the gel ear pads help stabilize the headset while wearing it.

COMTAC IV is also compatible with the Ops-Core ARC kit for use with FAST helmets (Future Assault Shell Technology), just like the previous COMTAC III.

Peltor Comtac V

5th generation COMTAC XPI/V - 2015/17

ComTac XPI meet the most stringent military requirements for reliability and functionality. They protect hearing from harsh sounds, amplify weak sounds, allow receiving and transmitting signals in noisy environments.

The low battery alarm sounds 5 minutes before the battery is completely depleted. The external radio channel has priority and will transmit even if the headphones are turned off or the power is turned off.

XPI headphones are an updated version of XP. The changes are not very significant. The beeps have been replaced with a female voice that tells you which buttons are pressed.

The headband is also slightly transformed, the metal frame is black, which makes the look much nicer.

Peltor ComTac VI

6th generation COMTAC VI - 2019

Comtac VI features new omnidirectional microphones and high-fidelity high-sensitivity speakers to help you perceive sound more clearly and accurately.

The new circuitry and microphone are designed to improve speech intelligibility and the environmental listening function's ability to detect.

Externally, Comtac VI is similar to previous models, but the NIB (Natural Interaction Behavior) wireless system automatically connects to users who are in the vicinity of 5-10m, allowing communication even at high noise levels, lowering it to an acceptable level and preserving the perception of the environment, which significantly accelerates contact bypassing the common station.
